Demons
2 is obviously the sequel to the original Italian Zombie
picture....Demons. The story of a group of tenants and their guests in a
high rise apartment being killed by zombies. This is 80s cheese at it's
finest even for Italian standards with the blue tint on the lens most
of the movie.
Oh I remember this one. Back in the early 90s a German indie movie producer (Andreas Bethman) had a fanzine about censorship in movies (Art of Horror) and there was an article about all the cuts in Demoni 2...and it was a fucking lie. So little old me goes hunting for that movie and bought like four different versions and shit-talked with countless sellers about those missing scenes.
ReplyDeleteWhen I found out about the hoax many month later I was seriously pissed. A couple of more years later when Bethman was promoting Rossa Venezia (complete garbage) I talked to him about that article and we had a jolly good laugh.
Still the first one in the movie theater was the better Demons flic.

Back then (and starving for anything horror related) I had to suffer through all off them and his recommendations even made me go for those sleazy Jean Rollin. One of Betmanns biggest problems (outside of pure talent) was his porn fixation for like the trashiest whores he could dig up. Back when Rozza Venezia was his newest catastrophe he even brought Lina Romey with him to insider DVD auctions and she was not only looking like a crack addict, she was also totally out of place between us horror junkies and nerdy teenager. good times.
